Aidan O’Meara Joins Stonehaven Steadings As Director Of Bloodstock, Client Development

Stonehaven Steadings announced the appointment of Aidan O’ Meara as Director of Bloodstock and Client Development. O’ Meara graduated from the University of Limerick with a degree in Equine Science and Business management and is a recent T.I.E.A leadership award finalist.

He has previously served as the Stallion Division Manager for Hill ‘n’ Dale farm for the past 20 years where he has managed some of the top names in the business such as Curlin, Theatrical, Medaglia D’Oro and Candy ride among others. Also under his management were the elite yearling colts of Hill ‘n’ Dale which over the years produced numerous sale topping colts and multiple standout racehorses such as Arlington million winner Kickin Kris and this years Preakness stakes winner Cloud Computing.

In its short history Stonehaven Steadings has bred and or raised two central Kentucky stallions in Shanghai Bobby and Daredevil on a historic piece of property that has produced five individual champions over the years. Stonehaven was a top 20 consignor by average at last years Keeneland September sale. O’Meara is the son in law of owners Chiquita and Jeff Reddoch.

“The time had come for me to focus my energy full time on the family operation,” O’Meara said,  “With the help of my wife Leah and long time Stonehaven farm manager Colby Marks we aim to develop Stonehaven into one of the premier thoroughbred operations in Kentucky. I am very grateful to John for all the opportunities he afforded me over the years and look forward to working with him in a different capacity in the future”.
