$700,000 Colt By Not This Time Tops Third OBS Spring Sale Session

Hip No. 1283, a son of Not This Time consigned by Randy Bradshaw, Agent, went to Michael Lund Petersen for $700,000 to top the third session of the Ocala Breeders’ Sales Company’s 2020 Spring Sale of 2-Year-Olds in Training.

The bay colt, who turned in eighth in :10 flat at Thursday’s under tack session, is out of Business Decision, by Put It Back, a daughter of graded stakes winner In Conference.

  • Hip No. 710, a daughter of No Nay Never consigned by Top Line Sales LLC, Agent, went to Team Casse, Agent for $430,000. The dark bay or brown filly, who breezed an eighth in :10 flat on Thursday, is out of Alhania, by Medaglia d’Oro, a daughter of Grade 1 winner Dessert.
  • Hip No. 847, a daughter of Curlin consigned by de Meric Sales, Agent, was purchased by Breeze Easy LLC for $430,000. The bay filly, who worked an under tack eighth in :10 1/5 on Thursday, is a half-sister to stakes-placed Chic Thrill out of Canadian champion Catch the Thrill, by A.P. Indy.
  • Hip No. 628, Original, a son of Quality Road also consigned by de Meric Sales, Agent, went to Tonja Tarranova, Agent for $425,000. The bay colt, who breezed a quarter in :21 1/5 on Wednesday, is out of Unforgettable, by Empire Maker, a half-sister to graded stakes winner Academy Award.
  • Jerry Durant went to $360,000 for Hip No. 701, a son of Lemon Drop Kid consigned by Randy Miles, Agent. The gray or roan colt, whose eighth in :9 4/5 was co-fastest at the distance at Wednesday’s under tack session, is a half-brother to stakes placed La Dame Blanche out of Adjudication, by Giant’s Causeway, a half-sister to graded stakes winner Inspector Lynley.

For the day, 149 horses brought a total of $10,748,500 compared with 170 selling for a total of $17,968,500 at last year’s third session. The average price was $72,138, compared to $105,697 in 2019 while the median price was $40,000, compared with $58,500 a year ago. The buyback percentage was 25.5 percent; it was 19.4 percent last year.
