$523,723 Jackpot Into Saturday’s Rainbow 6 At Gulfstream

The 20-cent Rainbow 6 carryover went unsolved for the 15th consecutive racing day Friday, producing a jackpot carryover jackpot of $523,723.65 for Saturday’s 12-race program at Gulfstream Park in Hallandale Beach, Fla.

Multiple tickets with six winners were each worth $30,182.38 Friday.

A total of $161,720 was wagered on the Rainbow 6 Friday, when betting started with a $484,917 carryover from Sunday’s card.

The carryover jackpot is only paid out when there is a single unique ticket sold with all six winners. On days when there is no unique ticket, 70 percent of that day’s pool goes back to those bettors holding tickets with the most winners, while 30 percent is carried over to the jackpot pool.

Saturday’s Rainbow 6 sequence will span Races 7-12, highlighted by the $75,000 Powder Break, a mile turf stakes that attracted a field of 12 fillies and mares. Godolphin LLC’s Too Charming, a front-running winner of the Tropical Park Oaks at Gulfstream two starts back, will be looking to rebound from an off-the-board finish in the Sand Springs, in which the 4-year-old daughter of Bernardini resisted efforts to take her off the pace.

Stakes winners Midnight Soiree, Bitacora, Hogans Holiday, Susie Bee and Crown and Sugar are also entered in the Powder Break that has been carded as Race 11.
