$45,215 Pick Six Carryover At Del Mar On Thursday

With no perfect tickets in Monday’s Pick Six, Thursday’s eight-race program will have a Pick Six carryover of $45,215.

There was just one winning favorite in the six-race sequence on the Veterans Day holiday program Monday. Buckstopper Kit and Kent Desormeaux started things off with a three-quarter-length win over odds-on favorite Flip the Coin Jan with 9-2 second choice Buckstopper Kit in the third race for trainer Martin Jones.

Evin Roman then guided Desired Edge to victory for trainer Adam Kitchingman as the 9-2 fifth choice in an evenly matched field in the fourth. Cupid’s Class, ridden by Joe Talamo for red-hot Brian Koriner, won the fifth over 7-5 favorite Sellwood at 3-1, followed by a 14-1 upset by Craig Lewis-trained Holland Road in the sixth under Geovanni Franco. Flavien Prat and More Ice won the seventh for trainer Jerry Hollendorfer as the 2-1 favorite, and Agapito Delgadillo won the finale aboard Malibu Bay for William Morey at 8-1.

In addition to the $45,216 Pick Six carryover, there is a $9,689 jackpot in the pick six available if there is just one winning ticket in the $2 base wager. The jackpot began building after an on-track player hat the only winning ticket on Sunday, taking home $138,889.

Post time for the first race Thursday will be 12:30 p.m. with the Pick Six conducted on races three through eight.
