$150,000 In Prize Money Offered In Aug. 22 Pacific Classic Betting Challenge

Del Mar will offer the “Pacific Classic Betting Challenge” on Saturday, August 22, which is TVG Pacific Classic Day at the seaside oval when five graded stakes will be presented on a stellar 11-race card.

The “live money” summer Challenge is now in its 17th year and typically attracts players from throughout the country on-track to Del Mar. Now for the first time the Challenge will be offered on-line through www.TVG.com. The Challenge offers a guaranteed $150,000 in total prizes including five Breeders’ Cup Betting Challenge and up to five National Horseplayer Championship entries. Entry is $4,000 total with $3,000 to the player bankroll and $1,000 to the prize pool. Players keep their remaining bankrolls at the end of the Challenge and the prize pool is paid out 100%, no takeout.

Those interested in competing must register through Del Mar at the Handicapping Contest link at DMTC.com/PCBC.  Registration is limited to 150 players, first-come, first-served, based on the time of submitting the $4,000 deposit.

Del Mar live races only with 11 races expected including the TVG Pacific Classic (Gr. I), Del Mar Oaks (Gr. I), Del Mar Handicap (Gr. II), Green Flash Handicap (Gr. III) and Torrey Pines Stakes (Gr. III).

Win, place, show, exacta, trifecta and double wagering. Wager at least $500 on 4 races and at least $3,000 for the Challenge.
